I am so excited to be sharing these pictures on my blog!!! I was beyond thrilled when Jill La Fluer contacted us to be a part of her workshop by having some of our furniture there. To be asked to work with such amazingly talented people in this industry is humbling and flattering at the same time. I instantly got to work on some new pieces that fit with her inspiration board. I found the settee below and had it reupholstered in a blush velvet, made some pillows with fabric flowers in the same fabric & crafted the lampshades below (just in case they might have been able to use them over the table scape, which I’m so glad they were)! Allison and I loaded up Patty (the name of our 2nd boxtruck-the 1st one we call Gunther), and headed up to the amazing Ojai Valley Inn & Spa. We did a lot of heavy lifting, sweating, and moving of things around to get it just right, but I couldn’t be happier with the end result. Jose Villa sent us a disc of all the images in less than two weeks after the workshop (which was in May) so I have been dying to share them for over two months! I mean everyone knows how amazing Jose is, but to see my furniture in his images, what an honor.
I am truly blessed to have been a part of this amazing workshop! What do you think?

We love to camp. Tent camping. Roughing it. No showers for days, cooking meals over the fire, snuggling in the tent with the fire crackling outside while you try to fall asleep; camping. We love it all. Joel and I actually camped on our honeymoon (13 years ago). We drove up the coast of California, camped in Big Sur and continued up to some of the most amazing towns along the coast of California. I can honestly say that the fancy hotels in Carmel and Monterey paled in comparison to the serenity and intimacy of snuggling up in a tent next to a creek in the middle of the woods. Heaven.
So, when I was asked by Brooke Keegan to be a part of this Glamping shoot, I was thrilled. My mind started spinning with ideas. I thought about what I would want my tent to look like if we were to take it up a notch or two (thousand) and glamp it up. Linen, doilies, and lots and lots of down feathers :)
I had a very large stash of doilies from our window display from Christmas at the studio…(sorry for the iphone pics-it’s all I had)
So, along with my amazing seamstress, Trish, we turned those doilies (and a lot of different shades of linen) into the tent below.
I put a mattress in it with a feather bed on top and of course a down comforter, and lots of down pillows. Oh yeah, and a few poufs to set your things on after a long day of hiking ;)
Do notice the reclaimed wood beams inside the tent. I used a total of three…One on the top, and two on the sides….what do you think?
I love detail shots! It is so hard to see all of the little parts of every set up….but pictures like this help pull it all together.
Molly and Max had just gotten married about three weeks before this shoot….they are absolutely perfect!
I covered a little fold up stool with a piece of a crocheted blanket for the s’more station.
I love this cake that Melody made. That girl has mad skills….Antlers, on a cake? So rad!!!
I picked this old Peanut scoops up a while ago…perfect for the trail mix bar, right?
I brought a drafting table for the sign in table….and a bed spring for the place cards…I think they worked out well. But when Wiley Valentine makes the paper goods…they could be put on just about anything and look amazing.
My reclaimed wood benches for the ceremony seating….
I have had this bed for some time and have yet to be able to use it for anything. I thought this was the perfect opportunity to throw it in the middle of the field, put some side tables next to it, more down comforters and pillows & if the tent wasn’t comfy enough, then why not just sleep under the stars! Wouldn’t that be so awesome?
I wanted it to look like a real bedroom. Outside. Accomplished?
Molly and Max were so awesome!
Jessica Claire did an AMAZING job on the pictures (no surprise there).
Holly’s flowers were so soft and delicate….perfection! It is always a pleasure to work with her.
Brooke did an incredible job pulling it all together and making it happen.
It was an honor to work with this team…I am humbled and thrilled to be a part of such an amazing shoot. Thanks to the whole team:

I wanted to share some images of an amazing wedding that my good friend Larrissa from Inviting Occasion designed and styled. Her talent is off the charts, and I am truly blessed every time I have the honor of working with her… She incorporated some of my favorite pieces and I love the way she used everything! Not that I am at all surprised by that!

I just got more images from the sToribook weddings that we were a part of last April (yes 2010). Wanted to share more of the details….
Thanks Susan Bordelon for sharing these photos….
And thanks Mel from My Sweet and Saucy for making all my stuff look so pretty with all of your amazing sweets all over them!
What a joy it was to collaborate with Bianca for her wedding decor. With a theme like “Love Succulently,” we knew we were in for a unique celebration. Although she has a modern-meets-vintage aesthetic, her eclectic look didn’t get too muddled. Instead, the chocolate, vanilla, eggplant, and sage color scheme tied all the details together and Matt & Bianca’s personalities shined through. You can read all about their inspiration and details in the feature on Style Me Pretty (and don’t miss part 2 or their video by Elysium Productions).
Generations of wedding photos were displayed on our long narrow black farm table.
Distressed vintage church pews created the perfect setting for the intimate ceremony. Jaclyne from Heavenly Blooms designed the oodles of hydrangea & succulent-filled arrangements. Bianca provided her own carpet aisle runners to complete the space.
At the reception (held at Root 246), our riddling racks filled with florals introduced guests to the style of the celebration. Escort cards tucked between bottles and succulents led guests to their seats. This collaboration with Jacylne brought just right touch of old world charm to the celebration entrance.
Bianca & Matt wanted an intimate but fun sweetheart table. Our distressed white table and newly-upholstered plum button-tufted chairs did the trick.
For an overflowing dessert display, we dove right in to create lifts, levels, and texture. Architectural pieces, vintage doors, gilded frames, and tarnished gold accents filled the space and made the desserts a focal point.
We’re grateful that we had the opportunity to be a part of such a personal and intimate celebration. Thanks Bianca for sharing your vision with us and trusting us to bring it to life!
After set-up was complete, Jeni & I couldn’t resist sharing our excitement in Bianca & Matt’s custom photo booth.
To be honest, we were a last minute addition to this incredible autumn wedding but when Angel of Love & Splendor called us up, we were happy to oblige. We jump at the chance to collaborate with her and this celebration was no disappointment. We just love the autumnal details and oh-so-happy couple. What a joy to work with clients like these.
Saddlerock Ranch just happens to be one our favorite venues. They recently acquired this beautiful carousel. What a perfect backdrop for this lovely couple!
Leslie is a positively glowing bride. Isn’t she?
Here is the rockin’ escort card table that Angel put together. We’re definitely biased but we think it is just lovely. The fall leaf cards pointed guests to their seats. She incorporated our Natural Wood Topped Farm Table, Orange Leather & Wood Chair, and collection of assorted wooden boxes & crates, as well as Scrabble tiles.
This bridal bouquet by The Treasured Petal brings together the perfect warm fall palette; oranges, deep reds, and a splash of purple.
The cake for this dessert display was made by none other than our sweet friend Melody over at Sweet & Saucy Shop. Yum!
And because this might be one of my favorite wedding photos of all time. So dramatic!
So grateful for the lovely images from Jennifer Rau Photography!
